Kerstin Edelmann is a German-born ceramic artist based on Texel since 1994, known for her organic sculptures inspired by water, shells, and mythological figures like Venus and Ariadne. Her hand-built works—crafted from chamotte clay with textured, weathered surfaces—often feature spirals, labyrinths, and water beings, reflecting the island’s coastal environment. Many pieces are suitable for outdoor display.
Her permanent exhibition showcases themes like Stroming (Current), Vloedlijn (Tidelines), and Oermoeder van de Zee (Primeval Mother of the Sea), including participation in Klifhanger art events (2021, 2023). Edelmann also creates commissioned works and has led workshops, such as a seven-path labyrinth at Novalishoeve care farm.
