Haventje van Sil

Haventje van Sil is a historic harbour on Texel, originally built for transporting building materials and later serving as the home port for the postboat to Vlieland. In the 1980s, local character Sil Boon revived the site, creating a unique haven with salvaged wood—embodying his philosophy: "Oud hout is goud." The jetty’s uneven planks and poles reflect his hands-on approach, while the harbour remains a tribute to Texel’s independent spirit.
