Schapenmuseum Texel

Discover Texel’s unique sheep-farming heritage at Schapenmuseum Texel, where the island’s iconic Schapenboet—a traditional sheep shed dating back to 1860—now stands on the grounds of Kaasboerderij Wezenspyk. Relocated from Den Burg in 2014, this historic structure offers insight into Texel’s rural past, from over 40,000 sheep in 1908 to today’s 15,000-strong flocks. Follow the scenic landscape path to explore the museum’s blend of history, nature, and tranquillity, with benches along the way to soak in the views.
