For over thirty years, Budo Vereniging Shima has been a martial arts institution on Texel, offering two distinct disciplines: karate and G-gym for people with disabilities. Each section tailors lessons to its members, with karate featuring seasonal outings and biannual gradings, while G-gym provides weekly sessions in the large hall of Ons Genoegen, led by a volunteer. Judo lessons are occasionally included for interested members, and both groups conclude the season with a special outing.
